El nombre real de DJ Tiësto es Tijs Verwest, nacido el 17 de enero de 1969 en Breda (Holanda). Comenzó tocando discos a la corta edad de 8 años y empezó su carrera en Breda, en una discoteca local. Más adelante se trasladó a un famoso club llamado "The Spock”, donde mezclaba música hardcore y hardstyle.

DJ Tiësto se ha convertido en uno de los DJs de trance favoritos en el Reino Unido, por su versatilidad para mezclar y producir su propia música. DJ Tiësto viaja varias veces al mes a Ibiza invitado por Cream, Gatecrasher y otros clubs, y es considerado uno de los mejores DJs de trance del momento.
